JACARANDA TRUST was set up in 2009 to provide support and promote co-operation and awareness for carefully selected charitable organisations in Zimbabwe that support vulnerable children, young people, those with special needs and the elderly.
Jacaranda Trust is a small UK based charity, we have thus far supported projects established by local people with whom we have a trusted relationship.
We can use our resources carefully and put these to the best possible effect focusing on specific areas of need. We can be accountable for how the money is utilised because of the personal relationship we have with the local charities we assist.
There are 3 Trustees. After 8 years as Chairman, Toby Greenwood stepped down earlier in 2018 and we thank him for his help and support during this time. Delighted that Janey McDowell has joined us. Janey was born in Zimbabwe and is department head at a school in Reading.
We believe in keeping the Trust small so that we do not have expensive running costs. The trustees fund all administrative costs so that we can assure donors that 100% of their giving goes straight to those in need.
We endeavour to meet the specific needs of our chosen local charities in Zimbabwe, by raiing funds, giving support and promoting awareness for their work .
We support the fantastic work they do in sometimes very difficult circumstances.
